Description of Graphic - Graph 6: Average Length of Stay in Segregation – All Offenders and FSW

A line graph comparing the average length of stay in segregation of federally incarcerated women offenders in red against the average length of stay in segregation of all offenders by fiscal year from 2005-2006 to 2014-2015. The length of stay is calculated based on the number of days from the date of admission to segregation and the date of release. Offenders who have not yet been released from segregation are not included in these calculations. Women offenders remain in segregation for significantly shorter periods than the average for all offenders. The average length of stay in segregation has decreased for all offenders and for FSW.
